One year ago I was opening a new extraordinary chapter in my life. Not only had I given birth to the sweetest 7lb 8oz dumpling of joy, but I also became a mother - not only a mother, but HIS mother! I have learned so much in this short year in how to care, teach, and love another person - all a while, he cared, taught, and loved me so much in return. I find it hard to believe that he is not only ONE years old today but also that I could never imagine next year being this amazing. But, I know it will be.
We want to thank you all so much for the sweet comments about his first birthday!! We had such a blast celebrating with our family and this sweet little boy certainly enjoyed himself as well! His birthday rumpus was so much fun! I'm excited to finally share some pictures of our special day with our little "Jax"! :)
Jaxon's little MAX outfit was my favorite part of the whole day!! He was such a little WILD THING running around in his attire. I die. It ended up being quite appropriate since he always insists on "growling" at people, especially when it comes to GRUB. I secretly hear him saying "feed me woman!" every single time the growl rolls from his little mouth. With that said, my heart could probably STILL explode from the cuteness overload, but let's hope it does not.
Happy Birthday, Jaxon Tyler! You are the cutes, silliest, most entertaining little boy in the whole world. I am so proud to call you ours and every single day, our love for you just grows so much! You are so handsome! I am convinced that you could not get any cuter! Your beautiful blue eyes & snaggly grin light up the entire room! This year has been incredible & we can't wait to see what years to come bring with you a part of them. We love you to the moon and back! XOXO, Mommy & Daddy
After he finished opening all of his present and visiting with all of our favorite guests, it was time to chant "Happy Birthday" aka smash cake time! Although he knew the drill from his 1/2 birthday party, he was still a little stunned, shy, and couldn't quite figure out why he had quite the audience. Even though I know that he loves attention, considering he insisted on putting on his little "show" for everyone who would give him a second of their time, he was still a little set back by the crowd of family surrounding him. It didn't take him long to bust out in his coo's and babbling, throwing his hands in the air in excitement. He didn't waste any time, as soon as the Birthday Song ended, he slapped his hand right on top of his monster cake.
He could not get enough of this cake, he might have as well smashed his face right into it! It kills me how "gentleman" and suave he was to start with, but that did not last long at all...
Of course we were all dying just watching him chow down on his wild thing cake... This kid devoured the majority of the cake as you can tell from the above picture. So I think it's safe to say that he nailed the smash cake. Definitely one of our kids! ;)
All in all, the party turned out to be so much fun & so very wild for his first rumpus! I loved planning it & am already looking forward to next year! Thank you all again for all of the sweet birthday wishes to Jaxon!
ps. Mom, thank you so much for helping pull this extravagant birthday party off with me! You are literally the BEST ever and we love you to death! Jax sends his sloppy cake kisses your way, Nonna (and Pops)!!! MUAH!
